“When Irish eyes, are smiling………………….” and so the song goes. And I truly was smiling, as I watched Ireland win their match against South Africa on Saturday 23rd September. It’s that time of year and the Rugby World Cup tournament is in full swing. And I can say, hand on heart, I am in awe at the skill set of every single player in the Irish team. Consistent, resilient and committed to nothing less than perfection. Any knock backs…

Oh my, I didn’t realise it had been so long since I last posted on my blog page!! There’s been the Six Nations, the Kings Coronation, and I have to say I did shed a tear or two, when Prince William kissed his fathers cheek and pledged his allegiance to him, also when 4,000 of our finest armed services personnel saluted King Charles. There has also been a few brilliant race meetings too. Not forgetting Frankie Dettori and his fantastic first past…

Yes, yes I know some of you may think I go on and on and on about the Six Nations. If I literally bore the pants off you with my enthusiasm of the great game that is Rugby, then honestly I’m quite happy and I hope you enjoy sitting ‘pant-less’ whilst you’re reading through my blog today, tomorrow or any other day. Yes, I have a sense of humour. Here I go ……………….opinions and views, all my own. Ireland have definitely stepped up…

At last a New Year and I hope there are many happy memories just waiting for you to discover. Heaven knows we all need ‘happy’ times to look forward to. And no I’ll not launch into reasons why we all need those times to plan for and look forward to, I’m sure both you and I already know. And as this New Year begins and we all reflect, I thought I would give you a small insight into just one of the questions I may be asked and the answer to…

I know it’s been a while since my last blog but as you’ll know only too well ‘time stands still for no one’ Yes, it’s almost Christmas and if you enjoy this time of the year that’s fantastic. I suppose in some ways, it’s a time to reflect, to think of family, good friends and memorable times that you may have enjoyed. But it’s certainly not selfish to think of ‘you’ to think of what you’d like to do, where you’d like to be,…

Such a sad time, with the passing of Queen Elizabeth yesterday. Yes, you’ll have read many articles in the newspapers, as I have too but there are no words to describe the immense love that we have and always will have for Queen Elizabeth. ‘Thank you’ somehow doesn’t seem enough. If we all feel this way, then imagine the enormous heartache that King Charles feels, along with his children and his grand-children. Everyone knows there is a ‘departure…

A summer of sport, including Goodwood and the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. Goodwood fabulous, great race days, with Holly Doyle having a great day today. Stradivarius unfortunately wasn’t first past the post yesterday. But he gave his best and he’s not yet due to retire. And then we there are many sporting events to enjoy at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. The Opening Ceremony this evening, featuring Duran Duran. So many sports to see…

Father’s Day arrived and with it brought, so many happy memories. Too many to list here.
Those happy memories stay with me every single day.
And keep me strong, on days when, contrary to what some may think, life is an uphill battle.
Precious, precious memories.
A short but poignant blog, for this Sunday, Father’s Day.

A time to celebrate, the Queens Platinum Jubilee. The first British monarch to celebrate 70 years, yes 7 decades. Incredibly hard working, stalwart throughout the good and bad times. How absolutely wonderful. Whatever your thoughts may be over these next four days, it must be said, it is a moment in history to be truly proud of a woman, 96 years of age, who has devoted her life to serve the United Kingdom. Four days to remember, from pageants to parades…
